GuOD, sounds like diatoms as well. You only have to be concerned with algae on your sand, if it is slimy and in sheets, usually with air bubbles in it. That is cyanobacteria, not good at all.

Thanks. I guess I originally only had diatoms. I now have slimy sheets of brown algae that has air bubbles in it. It's over 15%-20% of my substrate. What can I do to fix this?? It just started to happen. My water tests show up fine. It's getting much worse.
