Upgrading to bigger tank

-I need a full help on upgrading my 20g into a 35-50 gallon
-do I still need to cycle the new tank..can I add my live sand,live rock,and water from the 20g I'm getting rid of
-what type of filtration would be best-right now I have a 150 penguin and rio protein skimmer..
Plse help
 
You can move everything from the old tank into the new tank. I would just start with a tank of fresh saltwater and not transfer over all of the old water. If you move the sand and rock over quickly there shouldn't be too much die off but you might see a small cycle.
 
Every time I move a tank around I alwasy use new substrate. When you move the sand it releases alot of nasties that can foul your water. But yeah, just move the LR over and youre set.
