Using biodigest?

I just started dosing my tank with prodibio biodigest to ease a problem I'm having with nitrates and algae. I've done alot of reading and most suggest using bioptim as well? Just wondering if this is necessary in a fish only tank?

I also turned off my skimmer/ozone generator for a few hrs even though the box or reviews say very little about it.. Any input will be appreciated
