well I thought it would be good for newbies (and not so new "dark side" ppl lol) to get an Idea of what some fish/coral/inverts cost so they dont get ripped off...
for me these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head

O. clown- $19.99
Tomato clown- $17.99
Maroon clown (my LFS only sells these as a pair, and sometimes as a pair with an annemenne) $60
PJ cardinal- $17.99-$19.99
six line wrasse- $19.99- $24.99
Rainsford Goby- $25.99
Clown Goby- $10.99
Watchman goby- $22.99
Yellow headed jawfish- (when/if they are found at the LFS) $23.99
Yellow Tang- $30.00
Scooter blenny- $10.99
Mandarian Fish- $22.99
bicolor blenny- $19.99
flame angel-$69.99 ( )
neon goby- $10.99
firefish-$17.99
royal gramma- $19.99
yellow tailed damsel/domino damsel/3 strip damsel/ chromis (small)-$4.99-$5.99
_____________________________________________________________
LR- $7.99/pound- $9.99/ pound
base rock- $3.99/ pound
_____________________________________________________________
Cleaner Shrimp- $30.00
Coral banded shrimp- $14.99
turbo snail- $2.99- $3.99
astri snail- $1.99
tiny hermit- $1.79

thats all I can think of right now......

I see a potental issue with this. I have found prices even for livestock to differ drasticly from one part of the country to another. For example I have seen prices in FL and the west coast to be lower than prices in other parts of the east coast like TN and VA as well as other areas in the nations 'heart land'.

while it could be an issue, why not share what prices are country/world wide:

O. clowns: $14.95
Tomato Clowns: 19.99
Most SW snails: $2
Peppermint Shrimp: $7-9
Skunk Cleaner Shrimp: $22-24
Imperator Angel (Juvy) $59?
Watchman Goby $12
Emerald Crabs: $9?
LR: $5.99

At my LFS, tack on 100% more than online for dry goods. Livestock is a little expensive, but I'd rather buy or special order my livestock (if they can get it) from my LFS.

ill list what i have purchased that i can remember.
in iowa

percula clown- $25
bicolor blenny-$26
peppermint shrimp-$13
Skunk Cleaner shrimp-$30
nassariuous snails $2.50 each
yellow tang - $30-40
live rock-$7.99 lb
blue spotted puffer- $48
green chromis-$9

My LFS is a little pricey, but the quality and selection is incredible so i don't mind the cost. Located in NJ.
Fish i have purchased in the past include:

Medium Grey Poma: 99$
Juvenile Scribble Angel: 150$
Medium Goldflake Angel: 300$
Medium Macalosus Angel: 150$
Medium Naso Tang: 75$
Juvenile Queen Angel: 100$
O. Clowns: 20$
Medium Blue Dot Poma: 150$
Skunk Cleaners: 30$
Live Rock per lb: 8.99$

wow! that is so cheap compared to the midwest.

You are all actually doing quite well compared to the prices up here in Boston!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe many of these fish are so cheap because they are flown into the west coast, then flown to our neck of the woods after transferring flights. I've been told that MANY fish fly into LAX, so cheap prices in SoCal hardly seem surprising.

Around here...
O. clowns- 14.99
cinnamon clown- 29.99
damsels/chromis- 3.99
yellow tang- 24.99
juv. p. imperator- 79.99
lg. p. imperator- 149.99
lg. p. annularis- 149.99
lg. naso tang- 69.99
lg. pbt- 79.99
gold rim tang- 49.99
powder brown tang- 59.99
flame angel, potter's angel- 59.99
lemonpeel angel- 49.99
coral beauty- 39.99
dispar anthias- 39.99
red belted anthias, square spot anthias (I think that's what it's called), Bartlett's anthias- 49.99
... to name a few.

then there's the gold puffer... at 399.99, it's quite an investment!

There are many price differences here compared to other places, but a few are almost dead on correct.

It all depends on the store, while one place has a fish for 20 bucks, a store a mile away may have the same exact thing for half o doruble the price.
