What is the best substrate for refugium?

I just started a 57 FOWLR. I wanted to know what is the best substrate for my refugium??? I was thinking sand , and then miracle mud on top. Can some one help..

A substrate is not required depending on what you want in the refugium and what you want to accomplish. Absolutely no reason for miracle mud, especially in a FOWLR.
