What to do with Live Rock

I'm getting a bunch of live rock and will have a little too much for my 55 gallon tank. I've also got to do a little more setting up for my tank.

Would it be sufficient to leave the lr in a tank without lights and just a ph for water circulation till I have everything ready? It might take a week or more.

Yes, but there will come a point when the lack of light will kill any photosynthetic life on the rock.

YOu could always have the windows open in the room with the tank. Or at a minimum just put some florecent strips over it for short term.

I wouldn't need anything more than a ph and possible lights, would I?

I would put a heater in there if you need one to keep your tank up to temp.

How about a 25 gallon container of live sand? Anything I should do for it, till I use it?

Will my sand be ok for another week or two in a closed container? It's got water in it.

I'm not sure, but I think the life in the sand needs oxygen.
