when to add live rock?

should i wait till the tank clears up before adding live rock or should i add it now?

Throw it in. You will cloud up the water anyway when you aqua scape. Just make sure it's on the bottom so if you get any diggers in the future you don't have to worry about cave ins.

+1. Make sure the rock sits on bottom, not on the sand. If sands already in, just wiggle it and push it through the sand to the bottom.

ok so i got the start of my lr in the tank do i need the filter running seeing as there are no fish yet?

When you cycle you'll want the filter running so that BB can build up in there too. If you have a skimmer, though, leave that off. have a good cycle.
