I was at my local lfs this week and was interested in some of the corals they had. now i run a regular florescent bulb that came with my hood and moon light. What i wanted to know, is if Feather Dusters are a good addition to a fowlr tank, and if they need special lighting??

Also my lfs guy told me i could get away with certain mushrooms that don't require much light, is that true ??

I will eventually do coral, but only when i get a good grip on sw tanks and when i upgrade to a 55gal.

Thanks
Leo

feather dusters are filter-feeding tube worms. Light is not a requirement for them.

I have tried mushrooms under normal output flourescent lighting and they did not survive. That is my experience with them.

The feather dusters will be OK. I think you will have problems with the mushrooms.

I second that, the feather dusters should be fine, but the mushrooms will not thrive with just a flourescent lighting.
