Auto-shutoff "cycling"

Have installed a Barracuda, along with the 40 [acronym:947551838b="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:947551838b] storage tank and the auto-shutoff valve. Since the valve (and various other items shipped separately), I had to install and did so as per the drawings included.

Got the storage tank full and the float valve mounted in the tank works as it's supposed to. However, the auto-shutoff valve does the following:

- Pressure gauge shows a drop in pressure to approximately 20
- Immediately upon getting to 20, the valve opens and pressure returns to 80.

The cycle then repeats. I let it do this for almost an hour before shutting off the water supply for fear that the bouncing pressures would harm the membrane or other component.

Don't know if this is "normal" but it seems odd that the system would turn itself off and on when it's supposed to stay off (assuming the level in the storage tank doesn't change). Anyone had a similar experience or any advice?

Thanks,

Tim

normd/anyone at AquaFX -

Please read this post and or the e-mails that have been sent to you regarding this problem. After spending a considerable amount of money with you for the system, I'd appreciate some help with the problem/issue encountered with the auto-shutoff valve.

Thanks,

Tim

Aqua FX Barracuda and shut off

Tim,
I do not know if you have found the solution to this problem yet or not.....
If not, it sounds to me as if you do not have a backflow preventer on the system. You have to excuse the late post, it has been hectic and I have not had the time to attend to my customers as I should . I will however be happy to send you an ASO if need be, call me and we can figure this out together. 1-877-256-3467 I am at the office entirely way too late most days of the week, and even on the weekends. (9-6 M-F)

I hope I can be of assistance.....
