5 gallon hex tank setup?

I just bought a five gallon hex tank (I saw it on eBay for £10.00 and had to buy it). I have also got a thriving 29 gallon tank so I have some experience with fish. I am planning a sand substrate with a small piece of driftwood and live plants. I am not sure about the fish. I am keen on shrimp because I don't think my tank is big enough for a bottom feeder ( cory or otos ). I am not sure on betta because I find them a little boring in videos that I have seen of them ( I have never owned one ) so all suggestions are welcome thanks what do you think?
