55 gallon native tank

I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself I currently have a 55 gallon aquarium and 29 gallon that is not set up yet. I prefer native fish but enjoy some tropical species.

Welcome! I always thought it would be neat to do a native tank! What area is your "native"?

Arkansas, my 55 gallon has a 10" catfish that I've had for a while and still can't quite ID, all I know is that it's a species of bullhead, and a 55" black crappie.

Welcome aboard. You will find some native tank ideas in the coldwater forum as well as the planted tank forum.

I caught the catfish in a small pool near a river when it was about 2 centimeters long. I got the crappie from a pond stocking company along with two others, one of which didn't make the three hour drive home, the other died about two days later.
