Advice and just a wonderin'

Hi i'm Claire =) I'm in college and love my fish =)

I got my first fish tank in November, I'm not sure i've been doing everything right. So I decided to really look up more information. Plus I'm about to move and with that upgrade from a 10 gallon to a 20 gal. I've left my tank with friends while i've been home for the month...and he already killed 2 fish...He said there was a problem with my filter =/ I just hope the rest can last a few more days until I get down there and set up a new tank. Anywho i'm pretty new to all of this, any advice would be great !

That link will explain a lot. Just want to add, when you upgrade, run the old filter in the new tank with the new filter for a month or so if you can. Hopefully the old filter hasn't died and killed off the benificial bacteria in it.
