I had a fresh water tropical fish tank from about 1963 till 1968 and then again in the 70's and 80's but not since. Till now, I just got a 36 gallon bow front tank.
Back in the day I had a lot of fish.... some expensive. I bred guppies, sword tails, and mollies..... lots of fun.
But its funny... I never heard of nitrogen cycling. I would put new fish in a new tank and only de-chlorinate before doing so. Hardly ever ran chem tests. I had a few fish die over the years and had ich a couple of times.
Now after reading a lot of the online stuff and watching a lot of the videos..... I feel like I am a mad scientist.
But its all fun. Love that I am back. Glad to have a fourm that can help.
