I'm just about ready to convert my 33 Gallon Fresh Water tank to a Live Rock tank and have a few questions. Protien Skimmer, I will have to hang it off the tank and have been to 3 shops with three different recomendations. Anyone have a good sugestion? What is a good price to pay for cured live rock? Last question any recomendations on lighting?

thank you

Tank size 24" high 20" wide and 18" long

Welcome to AA!

Are you planning on setting up an overflow/sump system? This will help determine what will best suit your skimmer needs.

Live rock the best prices I've seen are either locally on Craigslist (hit or miss) or on ebay.

For lighting, what are your plans for the tank? Reef, FOWLR, etc.

Thanks for the reply

I was planning on using a protien Skimmer and a Bio Wheel along with a power head for hardware. The lighting is probably the most important I will want some coral, and other things along with a few small fish. I want to do it right however the prices are all over the place and live rock can go from 5.99 to 9.99 a pound.

Welcome to the site! I use 75% base rock and 25% LR, it saves a lot of money.
I got my base rock from marcorocks.com.
