Greetings - tetra in a new tank

Greetings!

I am new to Aquariumadvice.com and new to fish keeping. I am a grad student trying to finish my dissertation.

I have started up a 10 gallon tank of Serpae Tetra, and welcome any advice you might have!

I am currently doing 40% water changes daily. Once the tank finishes cycling, I will slow down to two weeks (I think I should probably do this if I want to keep Serpae in a 10 gallon).

since my tanks have cycled i like to do PWC's (partial water changes) once a week (i have a 20g and a 27g) and plan to do the same for my 10g when we get fish in it.
