15 gal is unfortunately not an adequately sized tank to house a rainbow shark. How long have you had the tank setup?

I know its not the right size, but, m planning on moving it to a 50 gal as soon as he passes 3 1/2 in. He is only 2 3/4

Just be careful about the reaching a certain size. You don't want his growth to be stunted.
