I’m not a total newbie to fish keeping but have recently learned a lot more. We had a saltwater tank when I was younger but I got thrust into full blown fish keeping when my daughter won a common goldfish at the fair. My mom put him in a bowl and gave the usual line of “they only grow as large as the bowl.” His water was disgusting by day 1 and I realized we either had to get rid of her fish (which with a small child is a no no) or get him a tank.
So we got the tank and everything for it and got him a friend. Things have been fine for over a year until recently which is what brought me to this community.
