Hello all, I have 2 tanks I am working with. One is a 29 gallon planted tank tank that I used to have 2 danios, 5 tiger Barb's and 5 kuhli loaches in. I gave them to my friend and cleaned the tank out. I kept the filter which is a Cascade 700. I cleaned the media with cold water and I am currently using pool filter sand as a substrate. I'm dosing with ammonia to do a fishless cycle. Once cycled I am going to do a cold water tank with 2 fancy goldfish.
My other tank is a 20 gallon long with a swimming pool sand substrate and an aquatop 575 filter. I have about 5 inches of water in it and it houses a single spiny soft shell turtle. It has the setup with the heat lamp and the uv lamp. I am about 6 months from having to upgrade his tank due to his size.
