Hello from Pittsburgh

I`ve just acquired my first tank(46 gal bowfront) in 10 years. I had fish for 20 years or so but took a lenghty break. I`m retired but I work at a zoo for 6 months of the year and I spend a lot of time in the zoo`s aquarium building although I don`t deal with the fish.I work in the horticulture dept. but spending so much time around the tanks kind of reeled me back in. In the summer I can pick the brains of the professional aquarists but for now I plan to pick the brains of the knowledgeable people on this site. Thanks in advance for your help.
