haha. Looks like I'm going to have to move a few of my swords around. Is there any real downfall if one or two of the leaves are stuck to the filter tube?

It might rip the leaves a touch if it's a strong flow and the leaves will cover some of the intake maybe restricting the flow. But it's no big deal. I've never had a problem with leaves getting in the way and stopping a filter working. I have plants all around my filter intakes.

That's a relief =). The only leaves that are getting pulled towards the intake seem strong enough. As do the leaves getting effected by the flow, so I won't worry about them unless I see an issue. I'm already excited to see some growth. Hopefully they all survive!

Anyone have an AquaClear 70 who can give me the dimension of the part that has the filter tube? It's listed as being 6" wide, but what I want to know is how many inches are on the back, where it would hang from the tank, and how many inches takes up the front section, the part with the filter tube and where the water would be filtered back in. I hope what I'm looking for makes sense!

Um, wow! What size tank?! You have some MAJOR stocking incompatibilities going on there. Fish may SEEM to get along and work in a tank but 99% of the fish sold are juveniles and are not their full size or sexually mature. For example: fancy goldfish can grow up to 12 inches long, require large species only tanks and high filtration.
