Hi everyone,

My little daughters (5 and 3 year old) want a fish tank after winning some goldfish at the fair. Some of them died off and my oldest got really upset, so I want to get them a "real" tank.

My father has a 55 fresh water and 125 gallon salt water tank, so I've been around tanks from a young age, and they are so calming.

What is the best bang for your buck starter kit? (looking into getting a 20 gallon tank). Looking to spend no more than $150. :D

Thanks!
Ryan

Welcome to the site Ryan . What kind of goldfish is it? Is it a comet or common (which need large tanks if not ponds) or a shubunkin or fancy goldfish (which are smaller)? Also, its usually best to buy equipment separately, since you get better quality items and sometimes its actually cheaper.

Howdy. Check up on craigslist for the best offers on used systems. You can probably get a very nice one for ~50 dollars.
