Hey everyone me an my bf have just set up our 55 litre tank an have our live rock etc in there but the rock has started to grow red on it but the guy who we got out tank from said thats normal in new tanks an you can get rid of it using a turkey baser but it just settles onto the sand then an it is starting to grow onto my dead coral :( does anyone have any ideas of how to get rid of it for good ? I will be getting shrimp when my tanks ready will they eat this an clean it ? thanks everyone :)

Pictures would be helpful in determining what it is, but it sounds like a cyanobacteria to me. What are your parameters as well as phosphate readings?
 
I attached some photos the first picture was a few days into the tank last picture is it now is this normal of a cycling tank ? Obviously the jelly fish isnt real haha
