Hello!

Right now my pictures are in the sick fish thread.

Actually, the fish are not sick I just have a bacterial bloom.
(Thanks again to all that helped me calm down and start to fix it.)
Right now all you can see is white haze. I have a hard time seeing my fish staring directly into the tank. I think my pleco is loving it though, he is invisible. lol
As soon as that clears up I can post pictures.

The API Master Kit is the best test according to alot of people on here. Good for you for getting it too, and getting rid of those strips.

My house would for sure be a zoo if it wasn't for my husband! We have been catching mice in the new house, and I won't let him kill them, I make him put them outside LOL. He said we might be able to rescue a cat from the Humane Society when we get back this weekend. Jackpot!

Welcome, and man, what a story. Its a fun hobby though!

As far as your water levels go when testing, there shouldn't be too much to worry about as long as you are doing your water changed and don't have the tank completely jam packed with fish. One thing that really helps also is live plants. The easiest and most low maintenance plant I have found so far is anubias barteri variation nana. They've got really tough leaves, and they won't start growing like crazy or dieing like crazy. Plants will also help keep algae under control, as the algae has to compete with the plants for nutrients.

Um... I think we may have the same boyfriend? LOL. He brings home random animals... Thats why there are frogs in the dwarf puffer tank, snails in the SW tank (which is ok they are the only inhabitants) and Cichlids in the Cichlid tank.. Yes that sounds like it doesn't make sense but the tank was cycling and the guy at the pet store told him the Cichlids would be fine. Which so far they are great.

Anyway, welcome to the forum!
