Hey I'm joining this forum as I want to learn more about pond fish. My fiance adores koi but because our previous flat didn't have a garden I bought him a 10 gallon tank and two goldfish.
Since then I've learnt that goldfish can live up to about 30 years of age and grow 50cm long. We only have two goldfish. Bob & Betty Newbie (I'm a big sim fan lol) and for our one year anniversary I want to get him a pond as we've moved into a flat with a garden and move the goldfish outside the house and get him a koi or two depending on the space.
I then plan on buying small tropical fish for the tank inside

Unless you intend to dig a pretty deep pond, if you live in an area that freezes in winter, you may want to consider what youre gonna do with a foot long Koi, thru the winter.
