Hi Everyone!

My name is Vicky and i live in England. Im attempting to setup my first freshwater tropical aquarium and have alot to learn! Just wanted to say hi and thank you as ive already received some good advice from members of this forum.

My setup is a 75 litre tank which is currently empty as i cant get my filters working (see general hardware/equipment section).

So far my gravel is in, tank backing is on, live plants are in, Tap Safe water tretment is in, heaterstat running, bubble stone running, 18w UV light on all day. Cant wait to get my filters working so i can put my bacteria boost in then hopefully 2 weeks later get a few fish.

If im doing anything wrong or you have any suggestions to make my fish or tank better then please let me know.

Welcome to AA! Please read the links in my signature about cycling your tank. Since it looks like you are doing it fishless read that one. If you are using the bacteria, that should speed up the cycle a little. Good luck!

Welcome to AA! This is a great resource site for any questions and problems.

You may want to get a timer for your lights, I keep mine on about 11 hours out of the day. Too much light could cause an algae problem, plus you want to simulate natural conditions.
