Im new to planted aquariums,new to barbs and new to corys. Previously only had community tetra tanks but decided for something new.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Chose the cherry barbs and corys as they are interesting and beautiful.

I would like to add a few more tankmates but still doing research and still have to choose between a pair of dwarf gouramis or golden gouramis.

Cherry barbs are an underrated, attractive fish. I believe they prefer groups, however, I am not certain what the M:F ratio should be.
Corys prefer groups.
As for the gouramis, depending on the size of the tank, they might better off as single specimens rather than in pairs.

Have only kept rosy barbs but the cherry barbs do look nice.
