Hi All,
Have a 45L tank set up for approx 5 weeks now. Have 3 guppies (was 4), 6 Neons and 6 platys (5 female, 1 male). One live plant, 2 plastic, a sponge filter (Aquael Fan-1), heater and gravel + ornament. I am testing (Nitrite and Ammonia) water daily, often twice daily and have been doing 10 -20% water changes if/when required (I.e. daily and/or weekly). Nitrite is steady on 0 and ammonia has fluctuated between 0 and .25 at worst. I have only just introduced the platys two days ago and a black & white one has developed a white spot (as attached pic) and one other female is sitting at the bottom of the tank gasping. Any ideas at all? Guy at my LFS said get rid of black & white Platy as likely to be a genetic floor? Seemed quite a harsh and premature judgement so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from anyone.....someone!
