i can give you some good plant options to keep look out for:
water wisteria
water sprite
penny wort
any aquarium mosses like java moss
cabomba
elodea etc.

all these plants can float, real good ammonia/nitrate consumers. any specific plant questions let me know.

can find plants on ebay, amazon, sometimes a local pet store, aquabid etc.

i myself have Cardamine Lyrata, wonderful golden chinese ivy type aquarium plant.
