I'm new to this sight. I'm finally starting up my second tank after 8 years with out one. I have zebra danios, I have a pleco, and an otocinclus catfish... And I also have a black fantail. Betty named nate (because he 'fascinated' me)

I'm picking up a 10 gallon

Right now I have a 5.5 but it's a holding tank... I have a 10 gallon I'm picking up today. Have hady tank for. About 2 weeks

For a Fantail Goldfish you will need at least a 29-40g tank. Start looking at $1 per gallon sales or used to save money.

A Pleco ? Commons need about 125g

The Oto can stay in a 10g, I'd add 1-2 more Otos.

Zebra Danios ? 20g Long minimum...very active swimmers and hit 2.5-3"

Please research each of your fish and you'll see where I'm getting these tank sizes.

I don't have gold fishfish, I have betta in a community tank. However I got my 10 gallon today. I just need to cycle it, not sure how long to cycle it for... Any advice?

My mistake
Fantails are a type of Goldfish.
Veiltails or Halfmoons are types of Betta fish.

Watch out that your other fish don't nip at your Betta.

Offer Bettas 1 to 1/2 of a thawed, skinned Green Pea a week to prevent constipation.
