Yup he'll end up eating it. You can take it out if you want though

That's a great source of calcium for him. He will eat it, usually at night. I say give it a day, if it bothers you, take it out..

You did not say what size tank, tank mates or what you're feeding this crayfish. I feed mine blanched peas cut in half. They love them and don't leave left overs. Some folks feed pellet or waffer foods, but those types of foods can pollute the tank if left uneaten. Mine love to eat snails, shell and all.
