I'm new to the hobby and fish keeping

I am new to the hobby, having my tank up for about six weeks and will have questions, probably basic, and will do a search before posting, so bare with me. I find it a relaxing hobby, sometimes I sit and just watch the fish swim lazily, well except for the cory cats, LOL. I have a 36 gallon bow front tank stocked with:

4 Sunburst Platty's: Huey, Luey, Dewey and Wilma (1 male, 3 females)
2 Red-Blue Tetra's: Kirk and McCoy
1 Green Tetra: Spock
3 Cory Cats: Larry, Moe and Curly

My only local sorce of information is PetSmart/PetCo as there are no mom and pop aquariums stores in town. edit: I have an bubble bar in the back of the tank and the jar decoration, all set to pump just enough air to get bubbles

thanks and peace,
