Need help setting up aquarium.

I have a 20 gallon tank and i am very new to this. all i havehad so far is a 2 gallon gupie tank and i realy have no idea how to do this. plese give me suggestionson how to set up a easy tank for $75 or less. I already have a filter subtrate(gravel) and a heater.

Buy a tank which is suitable makes sure it has somewhere to go and make sure it has a lid.

Craiglist is a good place to go for cheap tanks!

Certainly don't need a lid. I have never had a lid on any of my tanks...

What kind of filter do you have?

What are your goals for the tank? What do you hope to keep?

i already have a tank and i have a hang on back freshwater filter and I would like a farly active tank and more intresting then just goldfish

Well i didnt use to have lids until my Bala sharks starting jumping out and lots of other species can jump out so depending on what you fish you get there is a chance you do need a lid.

I would agree with that - if you want species prone to jumping, then a lid would be important.

I made that mistake was very upsetting to see my Bala Sharks dead on my lounge carpet!

Will never happen again though!
