Aquarium Advice Regular
Greetings all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I have a 20 G high tank which is populated with guppies and some invertebrates in a planted tank. I started the aquarium over the summer as a way to teach my daughters (almost 4 and 2 yr) about the coolness of keeping pets, as well as the beauty of nature, science, ecology, etc. It originally held about a dozen neons and a pair of guppies but with Sandy came 8 d of lost power and with it, lost fish. Fortunately the guppies and inverts survived.
I grew up with a variety of pets, but my earliest memories of caring for one was helping my dad or grandmother feed fish, so I wanted to carry that little tradition to my own kids and with it how a little upkeep can bring on such beauty to a home, and learning some basic chem, bio, math on the side as well.
As for me, a former New Yorker now living in suburbia, raising my fam.
Looking forward to meeting some folk and sharing some aquatic tales.
