That will work for now! And convicts are so much fun!
There are many other types of pleco's too. Some smaller ones would be more suited for that tank. Like a bristle nose (may be called a bushynose). With the stock you have you could do maybe... 3?

Thanks for that link. I probably should have put a little more thought into what we got, but we asked the lady at the pet store and she didn't even mention that size might become an issue. I will have to keep an eye on them. How about khoury (spelling ?) cats?

Do you mean a cory cat? If so you will be fine. I don't think there are any that get over 3". I'm not quite sure but I think they should be kept in groups. Like 6 or more...
