My roommate and I recently had the good fortune of getting ahold of a 29 gallon tank for free. We really would like to get a shark for this tank, but we don't know if this is a good idea or not, or even how to set up a tank for a shark... Any advice, or suggestions would be awesome! Also, if anyone has a 29 gallon setup, could you tell me what fish you have in it? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to AA!

Unfortunately, there are certainly no saltwater sharks you could keep. Though I'm not a freshwater person I don't know of many freshwater sharks you could keep either.

What type of tank is this going to be?

Honestly, I haven't decided what type I want it to be yet- I won't be buying any fish until late August, so I'm just doing as much research as I can now and hopefully I will get some advice on here!

no sharks can go in your tank. rainbow and redtail(the smallest sharks) sharks need a minimum of 55 gallons each.
