I recently purchased a 110 gallon tank used and plan on setting it up for saltwater. The onlything I currently have is tank, stand, hood and lighting. I'm looking for advice on the type of filter and other things I need to purchase to get started and get some sand and water in it. The tank is not predrilled.

Welcome to AA. I would highly suggest that you install a sump on that tank as there are many benefits. Start by reading here. Then either do a search on this site for sumps or post some specific questions when you are ready. I would also read through some other people's journals to see how they set everything up.
