Hello everyone! Ive been lurking on this forum for a month or so, and have made a few posts, but im just now introducing myself. :D Im 16, and a Junior in high school. A few months ago i got off to an admittedly bad start with fish keeping. I Impulsively bought a Goldfish without doing any research whatsoever. As i was walking home with him, i realized it might be a good idea to learn a bit about my new pet. Unfortunately, all I had at home was a 2.5 gallon bowl with no filter... i did some research that night and realized how badly i messed up. ? I did a water change immediately and the next day I bought a 10 Gallon tank for cheap, along with a filter. Knowing it still wasnt good enough, and that i needed to upgrade asap, but that it was at least an improvement. My Goldie, Jasper, immediately perked up. Hes very small right now, about an inch and a half, not including his tail, and hes a beautiful fantail. Ive since upgraded to a 29 gallon tank and am considering getting him a friend. So thats my story so far, and now im hooked.

Thank you all for your responses! I will certainly post some pics as soon as I get home tonight! I currently have 2 juvie fancy goldfish. Jasper, my gold Fantail, and Monty, my new Black moor. I got Monty from my Brother, who got him but had a Sub-Par living arrangement. Theyre both very happy in their 29 gallon and im in the process of converting their old 10 gallon into a community tank, i have a build thread for that here:

All in all im excited to be diving deeper into the hobby and watching my fish thrive.

Pics to come!
