Hi everyone I've been a fish owner for about 10 months now, I currently have a 40 gal up and running with platty, cories, and some that I am trying to properly ID. My gf got me this 65 gal that I will be upgrading to and I would like to make it a planted tank with mainly Anubia plants, is there a certain type of sand I should be getting? I would like to go with black sand if possible. I also started cycling the tank already: filled it up added prime and stability and brought in a filter from my 40 that had established bacteria to try and speed things up. IMG_0174.jpg

Looks good! Welcome to the community!

Make sure you are adding some food for the BB to live off of while you are getting it stabliized.

The most simple sand to use is CaribSea Naturals Instant Aquarium. Open and dump in. No rinsing, ready to go. There are less expensive options too.
