I have been reading these spaces a lot! I got a 65 gal up and running. Tank is 18"x18"x48", Fluval 405, Flourite substrate. Tank is half planted and half driftwood. Planted side is lit by 2 24" T5HO bulbs 6700K. Driftwood side is lit by 1 watt LED lights. Plants directly under fixture (about 1/4 of the tank). The tank ran for one month with just plants and aged filter media and weekly 25% water changes. The last two weeks I have been with ten young Tiger Barbs. Everything looks good (0 ammonia-API master test kit). Plants are growing ,even an Amazon Sword. Any suggestions on what would get along with these rowdy barbs?
Would like a herd of Corys but I think this substrate is too sharp for them.
That was a very long first post but a fish tank requires lots of questions and study.
I hope you agree.
