Hello all, I am a NEW member to this site. I have a 55 Gallon tank and am having problems that I believe are being caused by the SAND in the bottom of my takn. It is HARD to keep clean and though my NITRATES are correct i still have issues. JUST got over dynoflagolites aka "SNOT SLIME" killed alot of my coral and was sooo ugly and heart breaking... I stay ontop of the tank and just feel that the sand that is in the bottom of the tank is what needs to go. I think that by having sand in the tank causes one to have to work extra hard in keeping their tank "correct". Does anyone have any other ideas for what I could replace the sand with that may be EASIER to MAINTAIN??
