New to aquarium

Hello everyone

I have just bought my new aquarium, it has been set up for 2 months now and I have 3 tiger barbs, 2 clown loach, 2 angel fish and 1 rainbow shark in a 25g tank.

I have a problem
My tank keeps on getting a white milky cloud I have already once recleaned everything thinking it was the gravel because I was told that I didnt want my white gravel long enough so I have cleaned pulled everything out and clean it for 2 hrs and now it starting to get cloudy again so I just did a gravel clean with 40% w/c and it gotten more worse what should I do about this cloudy water?? I have looked all over the internet to try to get my tank clear but nothing works and I have read up just do 25% w/c daily but I dont want to stress out the fish incase they die I have even tried using api water clear but still no change any advice??

I am running a aqua one internal filter 103f that does 960l per hr
And a aqua one air pump 7500 and I have 3 plants that I have bought from the pet store for my aquarium

Cloudy Tank Water

Hello pat...

Tanks take time to settle. The water, fish and plants will eventually work out the water issues and it will clear. Right now, I would research the poly fiber filter media from a couple of companies. Acurel and HBH both make a cut to fit media that will go into the filter and trap and hold the floating particles that make the water cloudy. Large, weekly water changes will help. Remove and replace half the tank water every week. Be patient. The water will clear.

I'm very sorry to say besides the issues of cloudy water, you need to reassess your stocking list.

A 25g is not actually large enough for two Angels.

Please look up Clown Loach sizes and recommended tank sizes these are VERY big fish and prefer to be in groups of six or more. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+885+873&pcatid=873

I do not recommend Tiger Barbs with Angels as they're notorious fin nippers. Tiger barbs should also be in groups of six or more, more is better as they are so nippy.

Rainbow sharks get territorial they often do better with longer tanks so that they can claim one end and not harass the other fish they aren't as bad as Redtail sharks but they can still be very pushy. They get 6".

Don't over clean a new tank. Water changes weekly or as needed. Don't overfeed and keep lights on a timer 6-8hrs.

Hey thank for the info I will be getting a bigger tank and I will be definitely be moving my tiger barbs into a different tank now

I think if you want to move Angels to a larger tank your Barbs could keep the 25g ? Just have Tiger Barbs and maybe Cories ? It would be very colorful.

If you have room, a 55g or 75g are nice for Angels. Esp planted [emoji106]
