Hi Robbie. I have two 42" T8 tubes for daytime. One is Juwel Aqua Glow and the other is Sun Glow. The blue night light is a 24" strip of LEDs. I have the daylight on from 7am until 8pm. The night light over laps but is off from 11pm until 6am. The tank also receives early morning light from an adjacent window but I leave the curtain partly drawn if sun is strong. I live in Yorkshire, England so it's not often a problem
