New to having fish and happy to have a betta fish

Welcome to Aquarium Advice!

Yes it is. Bettas are bred much like dogs and their finnage and colors are very much valued. There are some breeders on here and it is a very interesting portion of this wonderful hobby.

I have always wanted to breed betta but it seems too complex and risky for the female.

Yeah, it's a process. You would definitely want to learn from someone who has done it before and do a lot a lot of research.
