just set up my tank about a month ago, new to marine but have kept tropical before,another week and i will add some fish would you say thats long enough

I would say to take a look at your water parameters and see if everything looks normal.

Don't add fish until you are sure the cycle is complete. Have you been cycling the tank and testing the levels throughout? The only answer to 'long enough' is when you have gone through the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate rise and fall cycle. And not until

thanks for the tips have been doing tests throughout the setup and they are as of today :-
pH8.2 Amonia 0 nitrite0 nitrate 5.0 to 10 phos <1.0 sg 1.023 KH10 german degree i have also had shrimp living in there lfs said this would help mature tank

With those parameters, I'd say you are ok to start to stock (slowly and lightly). What are your stocking plans? What size tank?
