So I found this site the other day while looking for answers on my Mollies, Guppies, and their Fry. I have a Pregnant Molly and had her in a net because all I had was male Guppies and one other female. Well we got some female Guppies and Mollies and we woke yesterday to 5 fry in the main tank. Needless to say the day before we bought a pregnant fish...not sure who though. Still trying to figure out what is going on with the known pregnant Molly. I grew up with a fish tank. In fact the tank that I now have is the fish tank I grew up with. We always kept a variety of fish. I have 2 kids a 2 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. We started our adventure in Aquarium's almost a year ago with 2 Betta's. After we moved from Virginia to New York they finally passed on. Too many moves and tank changes. Anyways now we have a 30gal tank with Guppies, Mollies, and a Neon Tetra. The adventure in learning the facts of life have begun and my kids love it.:):D

Welcome to AA. i have guppies and they are quite giving birth daily. they breed like rabbit.. but i have alot of fun watching daily how many new frys i have.. thank god i have a nest bed for them. they kept well in the community tank... im thinking about selling some of them im over abundance in guppies...

Welcome aboard!

Don't you I am trying to get my platies to breed again but so far no luck. I think I need to call the single male Mr. Fherley or Quagmire, cause he has 3 females in the tank with him.

Only time I had fry I didn't notice in time and they got sucked into the filter or eaten (or sucked out cause I was doing a water change when I noticed them)

plants give you a few benefits, good place for the fish to lay eggs & have fry hide, and they do help a bit in the filtering process...

...It's been suggested by some college degree folks that nitrates are not as non-toxic as most of us think. The plants help filter our some of the nitrates.

*lol* I will change their names as I get more Angel Fish, but came up with an idea for the 4 I have... Death, Famine, War, & Pestilence. Let fly the Angelfish of the Apocolypse!

IrishFishLady - whereabouts is that in NY State? Got some beautiful country in up state New York. Beautiful up by the NA Casino in Seneca.

Not sure I am familiar with it.... but for some reason think I have heard of it.... May have driven through it when I was going back and forth to Boston for a time.
