new to the forum and new to saltwater

Ok, so I am new here obviously. I am wanting to set up a saltwater tank (FOWLER). I already have a 55gal aquarium I will be using. I will also be building my own stand and plan to use a sump setup unless otherwise determined unnecessary. What recommendations or actions would you all suggest I take to create a successful setup? I am aware of the necessary equipment for my plans however am unaware of the good brands and "junk" brands. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!!

I have 2 55gal aquariums so I am thinking of using the second one as the sump tank. What would you all recommend and or suggest?

You don't really need that much of a tank for a sump. You'd be fine with a 20g long as a sump for a 55g. If you only have the other 55g then I'm sure it would work.
