Hello everyone,

The name is Jose and I'm new to the hobby. I recently came across some sweet deals and was able to capitalize on 2 46 gallon bow fronts! In one tank, I have the following:

Tank#1
1 46 gallon bowfront tank
1 204 fluval canister filter
1 Airflow 900 underwater
1 long aerator the length of the back of the tank with a Fluval Q1
1 150W heater
50lbs of rock gravel substrate
1 large caste in 2 separate pieces on each side of the tank
1 small piece of driftwood
1 hollow out log decoration
This tank houses 15 Convict Cichlids of various sizes and 1 large pleco

Tank #2
1 46 gallon bowfront tank
1 Elheim 2213 filter
1 Small Aquaclear filter
1 150W Heater
1 Whisper 60 with 2 aerators inside the tank
50lbs of colored gravel
1 large piece of driftwood
1 med piece of driftwood
1 small piece of driftwood
1 10gallon bucket's worth of rocks
6 different sizes of Anubis Bateri plants

This tank houses the following:
4 Blackshirt Tetras
5 Stone Loaches
3 Congo Tetras
3 Babypowder Gourami's
1 Rainbow Shark
1 Bristlenose Pleco
1 Regular Pleco
1 Golden Sailfin Mollie

I keep both tanks at 78 to 80 degrees.

I look forward to learning as much as possible about the hobby and how to become more proficient so I'll be ready to expand into more different types of fishes. Any questions just ask.

Hi! :) Welcome to AA! :) We'd love to see pictures of your tank.
Just as a friendly FYI, since you said you're new to the hobby, common plecos grow up to 12+ inches and eventually need a 125+ gallon tank. Plecos are also notorious for sucking the slime coat off other fish. You may want to consider rehousing them. :)

Hello Greta1981,

Thanks for the welcoming mat but where are the cookies? ;) I'll post some pics to this posts with my pleco's and maybe you can give me some more insight about these guys because there all different types of pleco's. Thanks!
