New user with some questions

I have a 100ltrs tank and its getting really hard for me to have a sump as a biological filter but i do use a overhead system using a small basket with filter floss.. Is it possible that those floss could be a home for good bacteria... And about this beneficial bacteria settling over biological media... How can we be assured that only good bacteria settles on our biogical media.., i mean isnt there possiblity of settling bad bacteria instead....

Hi, welcome to the forum I assume this is a freshwater tank?

The floss would have some good bacteria. Where the greatest bacterial population is would depend on your tank and filter setup.
