Had my first tank for 4weeks now, only have 6 blood fin tetras, read they very hardy fish and great for prepping tank before introducing other species.
They also lots of fun to watch, kids love watching them play.
Recently 2 of the fish jumped out the tank through a small gap.managed to save one but was too late for the other one.
Googled blood fin tetras jumping and came across this site.
Come to realize they just getting their groove on and I need to keep that lid on for now. Especially at night when the lights are low, seems that’s when they like it the most.
Introducing 2 algae eater tomorrow and some shrimp.I can see the algae spots starting on the pepples and fake plant.
Since I started reading some posts, snails mite be better then the shrimp.
That’s my long story, thanks for having me.

Blood fins are hot!!
Welcome to the group.
Have you checked all your levels? Ammonia, nitrates etc. Personally I would go with shrimp over snails due to them becoming pests and the bio load but that's me.

What size tank is it? Have you pics
