Newbie sited!

Thought I'd post a hello!

I've been hanging around the past week, after my disaster.

I hope to start again with a little bit of knowledge and other people's experience, and get a healthy tank going. I'm now trying with a 20g high, and have managed to not kill the goldfish for a full 9 days!

I hope to switch them out to a 10g in another month, and get a colourful community going in the 20g once cycling is established. Hopefully something like this:

but obviously that's for a 25g not a 20g...

I would not recommend keeping goldfish in a 10 or 20g tank. You could maybe get away with keeping one in a 20g with lots of water changes throughout the week. I think the general rule of thumb is something like 20g for the first goldfish and another 10g for each additional. They are messy eaters and create lots of waste. They are best kept in ponds or larger tanks (55g+). If you cannot get another, bigger, tank I would suggest keeping the goldfish in the 20g and make the 10g a small community setup. Hope it helps!

Welcome to the site too!
